Young Enterprise Norfolk Awards 2018

On the evening of 24th April, Jarrold & Sons under the banner of Jarrold Training were a sponsor of the Young Enterprise Showcase Final at The Open in Norwich.

Elliot Symonds, Business Development Manager at Jarrold Training, attended the event and presented an award for Best Customer Service Experience to a team from Wymondham College.

It was an inspirational occasion where winning teams from schools of the region presented their business ideas, under the long running scheme of Young Enterprise.

Businesses created were diverse, from importers and retailers of bespoke Mobile Phone holders, to clothing manufacturers, to scented candle manufactures, to design and etching of Norwich inspired glass tumblers. While several businesses went down a low cost, importing route, it was rewarding to see several who decided on a local sourcing policy. Teams had to work together, appoint a board and absolutely aim to make a profit.

The overall winners on the night, who will go through to a wider regional final, were a team from Norwich School (etching the glass tumblers) and a team from Norwich High (Tembo, which is Swahili for Elephant, an environmental clothing company).
