Apprenticeships at Jarrold
Apprenticeships not only help people gain valuable practical experience and training, it also helps us improve the range of skills we have within Jarrold.
One of our first apprentices, Amy Newson, started with us in July 2011. Amy worked in the Visual Merchandising department and it was apparent early on that Amy became a much-valued member of the team. By the beginning of 2012 Amy was offered a permanent position and is still working with the VM team today.
Since then we have taken on a further eight apprentices. Last year George Andrews joined the Catering department as an apprentice chef. His hard work paid off and this year he was taken on permanently in the role of commis chef.
Currently we have two apprentices – Joseph Reed in Catering and Callum Rowland in E-Commerce. Callum joined us at the beginning of January 2017 and will be made a permanent member of staff at the beginning of 2018. Joseph will complete his apprenticeship next year.
Apprenticeships have a long term positive impact on our business by helping us strengthen our teams and expertise across our business, while nurturing the next generation retailers.
